Sometimes you do a DJ gig that just re-affirms why you love this so much in the first place .
I had that this morning at 3am when I played 'Beyond' London's great afterhours party .
100% up for it crowd wanting the beats deep and funky and out there , I finished at 6am and as soon as I got home I had to lay this mix down to capture that feeling again .

I came across this mix the other day whilst cleaning out a few folders on my computer
It was made around the time I moved to London and really sums up the scene I was involved in at the time .
I loved twisted electronic house before they runied it by calling it 'electro' house and the rubbish started appearing.
I used to play this stuff to full dancefloors in Glasgow and London where people went nuts and then 6 months later the first track on this mix 'Exceeder' got to number one in the UK (although the radio mix had that awful vocal)
It was like punk and rave all over again , DIY ethics and real experimental beats
And THEN the record complanies ruined it all by releasing turgid wannabees and awful shouty electro records by the bucketload.
SO underground it all had to go again .
This mix is where my head was at Summer of 2005 through to 2006 .
It still sounds as fresh and twisted today I think and most of these producers/artists are still making great records and pushing the boundaries of dance music as we know it .
